Center Radiology, P.C. is an independent contractor professional corporation comprised of twenty-three sub specialty and fellowship trained radiologists staffing the Washington Hospital Center's Department of Imaging Services/Radiology. Center Radiology has joint ventured the Physician Imaging site with the Hospital in order to provide state of the art imaging in the community setting for the convenience of outpatients. All images that are acquired during Xray studies are digitally captured and therefore available, when requested by a referring physician, in several different media, according to the referring physician's preference for a CD or photo image (sometimes referred to as "filmless radiology"). The advantage to patients and their referring physicians is that the interpreting radiologist can send the images acquired that day to any of the other radiologists within Center Radiology whose specific clinical expertise may be related to the patients' current symptoms. This provides an immediate "second opinion" by using the full expertise of the Center Radiology group, when indicated.
